Nike has decided to retro the Air Griffey Max 96, a collectors favorite.  These are confirmed to be retroed in two OG colorways thus far, the white/varsity royal/yellow and the Seattle Mariners colorway.  Many people have been begging for these to be retroed, and Nike has finally answered.  I’m personally hyped for these, not only because it’s a hot shoe, but also because Griffey Jr. is my favorite baseball player ever.  These Griffey Max 96 will be retroed sometime in 2009, so stay tuned for more info.

Ken Griffey Jr. is one of the best outfielders to ever play baseball.  In his younger days, his outstanding range in the outfield was untouchable.  Griffey Jr. ranks fifth on Major League Baseball’s all-time Homerun list with 611, and if not for all of his injuries, he would probably be ranked higher.  Ken Griffey Jr. has the smoothest swing Baseball has ever seen.
