With Mardi Gras around the corner, we will begin to see many inspired sneakers for the event, and here we have the first in the New Balance 525 Mardi Gras. The release will include the classic 525 model, done in either dark, or light editions. New Balance is known for their many models and their flashy designs, but is this a pair worth getting?

The classic 525 model sticks to their lightweight design, using Mardi Gras inspired colors in two editions. The first of the two is an all black design, with a mix of leathers throughout, using perforated leather in the toe box and side panels, and patent leather stripe near the heel. The all black design features a purple inner lining, and a purple New Balance heel logo. The second color seen is green, seen in the entire tongue, and in small portions of the side panels. The last accent comes in gold on the New Balance logo outline, and in the tongue tag logo. The second pair comes in an all white leather upper, with a black patent leather strap near the heel, black laces, and small black accents in the mid sole. The only other color used in this pair is purple, seen in the tongue, and is small portions throughout the side panels. Both shoes feature Mardi Gras beads in the bottom end of the laces.
