When we think about Ping Pong, we think about a friendly match at your weekly BBQ or at parties throughout our nation, but Adidas has just released a pair to remind us how big the sport really is. Back in the 70′s, the sport of Ping Pong made it possible for the United States and China to come together for the first time since 1949, and so bringing the Ping Pong Diplomacy to full effect.

What Adidas has come up with is the Adidas Superskate Mid “Ping Pong,” putting all the aspects of Ping Pong into their design. So whats in Ping Pong, well what comes to mind are the blue/red paddles and the green table. To start off, Adidas went along a white leather base Superskate silhouette, using tonal white laces and a white mid sole. Stepping into the Ping Pong aspect, they used red side panels for one shoe, and blue side panels for the other, both having different textured designs. The tongue gets a special Adidas logo done in a Ping Pong theme, with the green of the table being seen in the tongue inner lining. Finishing off the shoe is a tan inner lining, and a gum sole.
